TMC Clark to hold walk for breast cancer patients

THE Medical City (TMC) Clark has scheduled a walk for breast cancer patients on October 7.

The event dubbed Pink Walk will start 6 a.m. on said date at the Clark Global City (formerly Global Gateway Logistics City) is aimed at supporting “breast cancer warriors.”

Rachel Pagdilao, area sales officer of TMC Clark, said in line wih the celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this coming October, the medical center invited employees from the City Government of Mabalacat and other interested individuals to support and join the activity.

She said that more than 300 participants are expected to attend the walk for a cause event.

Marking the second anniversary of its Breast Center last in October last year, TMC Clark formed a Breast Cancer Support Group, said Evelyn Yumul, sales and marketing director of the hospital.

The support group is composed of "strong, bold, and empowered" women diagnosed with breast cancer; relatives of breast cancer patients; survivors of breast cancer; and advocates of breast cancer prevention.

TMC Clark established center and its support group to empower and educate women about the prevalence of breast cancer, Yumul said.

The support of family, relatives, and friends, contributes to the patients' "survivorship," according to Yumul.

"Research shows that taking part in support groups, where you both give and receive help, is an effective way to reduce the stress and anxiety that can come with a breast cancer diagnosis," Yumul said.

TMC Clark has line up activities, lectures, and gatherings to help cancer patients overcome every trial brought about by the illness.
