Death toll from Naga landslide rises to 46

THE number of fatalities in the massive landslide that buried dozens of homes in the City of Naga, Cebu, has increased to 46, while several others remain missing as of 12:45 p.m. Sunday, September 23.

The landslide, which happened early morning Thursday, September 20, buried around 24 houses in Sitio Sindulan, Barangay Tina-an and Barangay Naalad, sending rescuers scrambling to find survivors after some sent text messages pleading for help.

Search, rescue and retrieval operation is ongoing.

The City of Naga Police Station said among those killed in the incident were:

A body of a man, wearing a colostomy bag, was among those found September 23, by rescuers. The bodies of two female children aged 3-5 years old were also recovered along with the body of a man found at Apo Cement. There are also two bodies of women identified as Susan Aguanta and Felipa Merly Baclaan.
