AFTER Typhoon Ompong, a tropical depression with international name "Trami" is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Sunday afternoon, September 23.

It will be named "Paeng", the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said. As of 5 p.m., the weather bureau said Paeng has no direct effect on the country yet.

Paeng is forecast to be located east of Tuguegarao City in Cagayan Monday morning, September 24, with a maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour near the center.

It may affect the extreme northern Luzon including Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands around Friday, September 28.

Meanwhile, the Visayas, Mindanao and Palawan will continue to experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

The weather bureau advised the public to take precautionary measures against possible flooding and landslides. (CLC)
