THE Davao Ngilngig Festival (DNF) 2018 is now accepting submissions from student, amateur, and professional filmmakers for short films with the "ngilngig" factor until October 3, 2018.

Short films with the "ngilngig factor" will be chosen to be screened in the Davao Ngilngig Festival 2018, from October 26 to 30, 2018 in select Davao cinemas.

"Ngilngig" can either mean "awesome" or "gruesome", but the Davao Ngilngig Festival has been stretching and expanding its meanings to encourage new ways of showing stories in film.

The DNF is not only bounded in the common tropes of the horror genre. It celebrates the thousand faces of a ngilngig story through different voices from filmmakers around the Philippines.

Short films, not-longer than 40 minutes, which are produced within 2016 to 2018 are welcome for submission.

Online submission forms are found on the DNF Facebook page (DavaoNgilngigFilms) and the DNF website (www. davaongilngigfilms.com)

The 2018 Davao Ngilngig Festival is organized by Pasalidahay with Balud Art Network, Global Shapers Community Davao, Micromedia Digital Video Productions, Origane Films, Pinoy Movie Blog, Swito Social Innovation Hub, The Panagtagbo, Timewrap Film Productions, and in partnership with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), Midtown Printing Co., Inc., Cinedashery East / Midtown Films.

The festival is also sponsored by Malagos Garden Resort and Balik Bukid Farm and Kitchen, National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), SunStar Davao, and supported by Art Portal Gallery for Contemporary Art, Balay Amakan, Dhanstore, Energy FM 88.3 Davao, Morning Light Art Gallery and Shop, and Revere.
