Moonstar Cantonese Restaurant

CRAVING for authentic Chinese specialties?

With the opening of Moonstar Cantonese Restaurant in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, you won’t have to travel all the way to China or Hong Kong to get a real taste of the world-famous Cantonese cuisine.

With a mission to bring superb and satisfying Cantonese dining experience to Kapampangans, the restaurant promises a plethora of dishes curated by its owner Chef Wang Yu who takes pride of many of years of culinary expertise he has gained while living in Guangdong, (formerly Canton) a coastal province in Southeast China.

Now living in the Philippines for 12 years, the passionate chef shared that he was inspired to open a restaurant in the province because he envisions to offer authentic Cantonese fares that are both traditional yet inventive.

“I’ve been here for many years now and I realized that while there are many Chinese restaurants in Pampanga, they all still seem to be lacking in authenticity, probably because their cooks are Filipinos,” he said.

“Here at Moonstar, I personally curate and prepare the dishes, and I also adjust the taste to complement our Filipino customers’ palate and preference,” he added.

He furthered that another edge of the new dining destination is that they use only the freshest and carefully selected ingredients, as well as the best harvest and stock, especially seafood.

He highlighted that by serving intricately prepared and reasonably priced dishes, Moonstar aims to redefine the local culinary scene.

“We really want to bring high-quality food for the locals, who do not need to board a plane and shell out lots of money to get a real taste of authentic Cantonese food. Here at Moonstar, they are assured of high-caliber, classic Cantonese food with a twist and at a very affordable price,” he noted.

The Chinese culinary master then recommended the restaurant’s must-try main entrees including Moonstar Fried Chicken with Cropeck, Crispy Lemon Chicken, Braised Pork with Preserved Vegetables, Patatim with Vegetables, Chinese-style Beef Tenderloin, Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet, Salt and Pepper Squid, Broccoli with Scallops and Shrimp, and Steamed Garlic Crabs, among others. These can all perfectly match the special Moonstar Fried Rice, which is one of his signature rice dishes.

Moonstar Restaurant is located at Kingspire Business Center, MacArthur Highway, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. For more information and reservations, call (045) 402 4914 or check out its official Facebook page: Moonstar Cantonese Restaurant.
