Go to look into raising nurses' pay

DUE to the high number of nurses who prefer to work abroad because of low pay here, Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go said on Monday, September 24, that he plans to study the increase of their salary and will make it as a priority.

“Isa ‘yan sa mga priority na bigyan ng pansin ang sweldo ng nurses not only in public but also in private,” Go said on Monday during the launching of Malasakit Center in front or Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC).

Thus, he said that wherever he will be placed in the government, he wants to address their needs.

“Kaya sabi ko nga kung saan ako mapadpad, willing akong tumulong sa nurses natin para hindi na sila lumabas ng bansa,” Go said.

After the increase of the salary of the law enforcers, different professions also urged the government to raise their salaries and the nurses are one of them. Currently, a nurse with Salary Grade 11 is receiving P20,754.

He also reiterated the plan of the President to increase the compensation of the teachers.

“Ang ating Ppangulo na after their salary standardization, unti-unting i-increase yong salary ng mga teachers after the salary standardization of 2019. Hindi doble pero unti-unti niyang i-increase as promised niya don sa prinicipals convention,” he added. (JCR)
