Comelec sets up satellite centers for registration, transfer this week

VOTERS from north of Cebu City who wish to register or transfer their place of registration can head to the Commission on Elections’ satellite office at the Ayala Center Cebu. Election Officer Marchel Sarno said that beginning yesterday, all transactions with the Comelec for the north district, can be done in the mall. Sarno said registration will end on Sept. 29. He said their main office can not handle the bulk of registrants that swarm in the last week of registration. Voters from the Cebu City south district can go to the main office, although the Comelec will open a satellite center at the Robinson’s Cybergate near Chong Hua Hospital on Sept. 27-29. Sarno said there might no longer be any extension since they begin processing certificates of candidacy for local candidates in the second week of October. (PAC)
