Delfin Lee airs support to Duterte's anti-drugs drive

MABALACAT CITY -- Housing developer Delfin Lee, who was recently released from jail on bail, said he fully supports President Rodrigo Duterte's drive against illegal drugs.

Lee, during a press conference at the Mabalacat City Hall on Monday, September 24, said that the President is right for being dead serious in his program against the drug menace.

"I'm telling you, I was jail for four and half years. President Duterte is right that drugs will destroy our country," Lee said.

About 90 percent of the detainees at the Pampanga Provincial Jail were involved in illegal drugs, according to Lee.

"I saw how families were ruined, how lives were ruined. That is why the President is angry. He is right. I saw it first hand," he said.

Lee said he even helped some of the detainee’s families. "I supported several of them because I pity their children. Other detainees were saving their rations so they can send food and rice to their families back home."

Lee visited Xevera Mabalacat and vowed to help the homeowners settle issues concerning the ownership over their housing units inside.

Lee was released from the provincial jail last Thursday after the Supreme Court downgraded his syndicated estafa case to simple estafa.

He said it is his moral obligation to face and help the homeowners.
