MisOr guv urges police to continue war on drugs

MISAMIS Oriental Governor Yevgeny Emano on Monday, September 24, has urged the provincial police office to continue the government's campaign against dangerous drugs in the aim to make the province drug-free.

Emano made the statement after provincial police director Senior Superintendent Rolando Destura reported that some 50 villages in the province have already been declared drug-cleared.

Misamis Oriental has 424 barangays and two cities.

The towns that have drug-cleared barangays were Alubujid, 5; Balingasag, 2; Claveria, 5; El Salvador City, 3; Gingoog City, 3; Kinoguitan, 11; Laguindingan, 2; Libertad, 2; Lugait, 2; Medina, 5; Salay, 5; Sugbongcogon, 3, and Villanueva, 2.

"I hope mamonitor ni nga mga barangays ug ma-maintain sa kapolisan (I hope the police will maintain and continuously monitor these barangays),"Emano said.

The governor also said he is hoping that there will be more villages in the province that will be declared free from the menace of illegal drugs.

Emano also urged village officials to help the government fight illegal drugs.

"I hope nga modaghan pa ang ma-deklara especially with the new captains including the local government units," Emano added.
