THE Ford Academy of the Arts (FAA) Blue Phoenix advanced to the Davao City Athletic Association (Dcaa) 2018 Meet after beating arch-rival Davao Jones Academy (DJA), 17-14, in the Davao Association of Private Schools and Administrators Inc. (Daprisa) Games 2018 secondary 3x3 basketball finals held at the Doña Pilar Learning Center Foundation (DPLCF) covered court Monday evening, September 24.
The Phoenix was bannered by Raine Maga, Jude Paolo Bagay, Clent Rowell Padriquela and Jahpet Galupo. They won eight games in the event and will represent Unit 8 in the city meet.
FAA sports coordinator and former coach Moses Mabayao lauded the players for bringing another honor for the school.
"This is another achievement for FAA. We really want to get the gold," he said.
Meanwhile, the Precious International School of Davao (PISD) held a colorful opening program Monday morning.
Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) commissioner Charles Raymond Maxey graced the program along with Daprisa president Mylene Rochelle Cruz and vice president Michael Rogel Kwan.
A cheerdance competition highlighted the opening ceremony with the PISD Grade School Pep Squad clinching the gold.
Games are ongoing in different venues.
