Investments in Davao hit P14.3B as of June

THE Board of Investments in Mindanao said it registered projects with a combined estimated cost of at least P14.3 billion in Davao Region in the first semester of 2018.

Two of the eight projects registered from January to March of this year have a combined project cost of P494 million while investments from April to June 2018 reached P13.82 billion.

The two projects with indicated project costs in the first quarter are the P314.29-million Mesatierra Garden Residences of Yuson Excellence Soberano, Inc. and the P178.75-million Altezza Grande of Urbaneast Development, Inc. Both real estate projects are located in Davao City.

Other projects registered from January to March were the 1-MW Talomo 1 Hydroelectric power plant of Hedcor, Inc., a subsidiary of Aboitiz Power, in Calinan, Davao City; and Musahamat Farms, Inc., an exporter and producer of cavendish banana in Compostela Valley with investments in Mabini, Pantukan, and Davao City.

The biggest investment in the first half of the year was the P13.32-billion bulk water supply project of Apo Agua Infrastructura, an Aboitiz company, in Tamugan, Davao City.

Also registered in the second quarter were the P325.97-million investment of Syntek Agri-Bio Corporation for the production of table eggs and culled layer in Panabao City; and Realy Investments, Inc., which is pouring in P171.16 billion for the development of economic and low-cost mass housing project in Catalunan Grande, Davao City.
