Regasco guarantees lower prices

AMID the rising prices of commodities, a company that sells liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) assured it will keep its prices competitive.

To widen its reach in the country, the Republic Gas Corp. (Regasco) put up its first Cebu plant in Compostela.

General manager Jan Kasey Yaun said that the refilling station will be a great help to Cebuano consumers.

“Ubos gud ang presyo sa Regasco, pero di sad ta kaingon nga ubos kaayo. Kanang maka compete lang gud nga presyo (Our rates are really cheaper, enough to compete with other brands),” said Yaun.

Yaun added that the price of their product will also become cheaper as they open their other depots in the province soon.

He also assured that Regasco’s rates will remain lower than its competitors.

“Dili na ta mahadlok nga mag-taas ang uban kay ang Regasco magpabilin gyud siyang ubos (We should not worry if other companies raise their prices because Regasco will always be lower),” assured Yaun.

The general manager said that Regasco already owns a ship that delivers empty tanks to the province directly from its supplier, one of the reasons hey sell their products at a lower rate.

Regasco now has more than 20 dealers in the province, just four months after they started operations in Cebu last May.

However, Yaun, advised dealers to carry multiple brands, as there are consumers who are loyal to other brands. They don’t have exclusive Regasco dealers.

Aside from having dealers, the company also has showrooms in Compostela, Liloan, Consolacion, Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, Cordova and Labangon, Cebu City.

Yaun said they also have plans to open showrooms in Danao City, Bogo City, Talisay City, Pardo, Cebu City and Minglanilla.

To keep prices low, he said they will not sell outside Cebu, as there might be competitors who have refilling stations such as in Leyte and in Mindanao. Shipping costs could also affect the price. (Clarenz Jay Mendoza, USJ-R Intern)
