DTI urged to intensify info drive on SRPs of basic goods

BACOLOD City Councilor Sonya Verdeflor urged the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and its Consumer Protection Group officer-in-charge in Western Visayas to intensify their massive information drive in Bacolod City on the latest suggested retail price (SRP) list of basic and prime goods most specifically seasonal items that are usually released every October or November in preparation for the Yuletide season.

The resolution authored by Verdeflor was passed by the City Council recently.

The new price list which took effect on September 1 includes Visayas and Mindanao.

The DTI reminded the public not to confuse the SRP list of basic and prime goods with that of Noche Buena products.

The Department clarified the SRP list for seasonal items is usually released every October or November of each year in preparation for the Yuletide season.

As such, the SRPs of Noche Buena products issued in November 2017 remains in effect until the release of the updated price list.
