Ceneco manager: I don't receive P250,000 salary yet

SULPICIO Lagarde Jr., general manager of Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco), clarified on Tuesday, September 25, that he has not yet received the monthly salary of P250,000 because it is not yet implemented.

Lagarde said he is still receiving his current monthly salary of P120,000 as general manager of Ceneco.

Lagarde, in a press conference on Tuesdayd, said the board through a resolution has granted him that salary rate but it is not yet implemented because it still needs the approval of the National Electrification Administration (NEA).

"The board resolution is just a recommendation," he said.

The issue on Lagarde's salary was uncovered by former Ceneco president Arnel Lapore who wrote a letter to the Ceneco board raising the matter.

In his letter dated September 21 to the members of the Ceneco Board, Lapore is calling a special board meeting at the soonest possible time.

He claimed that on September 20, he was informed that the Board passed a resolution granting Lagarde a monthly salary rate of P250,000 in exchange for his commitment to avail an optional retirement under NEA Memorandum No. 2018-003 dated January 17.

Lagarde said he just wanted that his salary will also be the same as in South Cotabato and Batangas electric cooperatives in the amount of P200,000 per month.

He explained that the guidelines of NEA on salaries is very clear that Ceneco can implement the NEA salary scale intended to improve take-home income and productivity of rank in file and management employees including the GMs even without the approval of the consumer members in the Annual a General Membership Assembly (Agma).

It is the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) that needs approval in the Agma and that Ceneco had completed the implementation of the 2015 NEA salary scale earlier this year.

The next tranche of NEA 2018 salary scale shall be implemented starting this last quarter 2018 or until 2019, Lagarde said.
