Drug busts yield shabu worth P800,000

TWENTY persons, including a Korean national, were caught in a series of drug busts in the cities of Danao and Cebu in the past two days.

Anti-narcotics operatives seized P864,350 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu.

At 1:10 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, Patrick Fortuna Aringue, 35; Gilbert de Asis Pedrano, 46; and Korean national Seo Yong Hong, 38, were arrested by a team from Cebu City Police Office (CCPO)-Station 3 in Sitio Laray, Barangay Carreta.

The suspects yielded P708,000 worth of shabu.

Aringue was targeted by the operation after he was identified as a drug personality. He was reported through "Itug-an ni CD," an anti-criminality program by CCPO Director Royina Garma.

In Danao City, the operatives confiscated P156,350 worth of "drugs" in the villages of Upland Poblacion, Guinacot, Binaliw, Suba, Sabang, Taboc Poblacion, Canlingo Sabang, and Looc.

Arrested were Jerald Almerez, Ivy Sayson, Zenchie Cane, Rexmie Castillo, Jonel Lavador, Joselito Roble, Rechil Advincula, Reynaldo Villa, Eric Evacitas, Charlie Evacitas, Elmer Gonzaga, Ariel Patlingrao, Lesley Nunez, Rafael Castillo, Herson Capoy, Flores Pasaol and Elmer Almoje.

The suspects will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (KAL)
