DTI-Davao set to launch young entrepreneurship

TO ENTICE young Dabawenyos to venture in entrepreneurship, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is set to create Young Davao Entrepreneurship which is eyed to be launched early next year.

“Mura siyag business pitching. Ang amoang idea is para maka-engganyo pa og daghan nga mu-invest ug muadto sa business mao nang gina-plan namo ni (It’s like a business pitching event. Our idea is to encourage more people to invest into business that’s why we planned this),” DTI Regional Director Ma. Belinda Ambi said in an interview.

She added, “dili paman gud han-ay pa ang mga guidelines pa niya mao nang ginaplano pa pud namo ug maayo” (The guidelines are not yet set that’s why we are still planning it well).

Ambi said that efforts from various business groups are very much appreciated in order to bolster more interest in establishing businesses through entrepreneurship.

“Katung JCI (Junior Chamber International-Davao) naa pud silay own nila nga business pitching event, but para sa amoa ang gusto unta namo nga maskin sa region level lang kay kato national man (The JCI-Davao also has their own business pitching event, but for us what we want is a regional level of it since JCI had it on a national level),” Ambi said.

Ambi also cited the efforts from the Davao City Chamber of Commerce in creating groups of young entrepreneurs in the city.

“This is in a way an effective manner to invite would-be entrepreneurs. Maski wala pa siyay business jud, pero naa siya’y good business idea at least ma-assist nato (Even if he/she has no business yet, but has a good business idea, at least we can assist),” Ambi said. (GAD)
