Task force nabs drug peddlers

THE City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (CAID-SOTG) of Bacolod City Police Office apprehended a suspect in possession of illegal drugs, Tuesday.

The operation was spearheaded by its Assistant Task Force Commander Police Superintendent Pedrito Escarilla with Police Inspector Joemarie Occeño.

Jonel Bonza Bayles alias “Orig”, 30, married, and resident of Purok Sigay in Barangay 2 in Bacolod City, was caught in raid 11 a.m. at his house by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Napoleon S Diamante of MTCC Branch 3 for violation of Republic Act 9165 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Bonza voluntarily surrendered the police six elongated plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, three disposable lighters and cash amounting to P1,000 in various denominations believed to be proceeds of the illegal sale of shabu.

Four others were also caught sniffing shabu near Bonza’s house and they were Rameses Santillan Isiderio, 22, single of Purok Marapara in Barangay Bata, this city, Daddy Boy Oberes Templado, 27, single, of Hacienda San Francisco in Silay City, Jomer Hinlo Panesa, 34, single of Charito Heights Subdivision in Barangay Granada, and a 16-year-old-boy.

The operatives also recovered at the top of the table where the trio had their pot session were three sliced aluminum foils, two disposable lighters with improvised torch and two empty plastic sachets.

Suspects are now detained at the lock up cell of CAID-SOTG facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, said PO2 Jared Esquilla.

In Cadiz City, three suspects were arrested by police operatives for engaging in a pot session Sunday evening during the highlights of the Dinagsa festivities in the city.

Police chief Inspector Noel Mana-ay reported that patrolling policemen led by Police Officer 3 Gerald Bacolodo chanced upon the suspects smoking marijuana along Abelarde Street in Barangay Zone 3 of the city.

Apprehended were Edelhope Caseres, 29, and Geneser Embele, 22, both residents of Bliss Project in Barangay Daga and Jehru Elisan, 22, a resident of Purok Mainuswagon in Barangay Jerusalem, all were city residents.

Policemen recovered three partially burnt marijuana dried leaves wrapped in yellow pad.

Charges for violation of RA 9165 have been readied against the suspects who are now detained.
