THE Sharks bagged the Season 12 crown of the Elite Basketball Club Cebu after a 91-87 victory over the Tigers in the finals last Sunday night at the Visayan Glass Basketball Gym in Guadalupe.
The Tigers took the early lead of the game leading in the first half, 46-41, with an offense centered on Jefford Aldave, who had 11 in the second half.
The Sharks, however, rallied in the third quarter and outgunned the Tigers, 24-15, for a 64-61 lead. The Sharks dictated the pace and finished up on top in the fourth.
Niño Belande led the Sharks with 16 points, including eight in the final quarter, to take Finals MVP honors. Paul Salarda added 15, John Cabahug added 14 and Prince Malana chipped in 13.
Aldave had a huge game for the Tigers with 20 points but was held scoreless in the fourth quarter. Chris Obeso added 17, Joel Bensig had 16, Jojie Bas and VM Cempron had 11 each. (RSC)
