PDEA-Central Luzon dismantles Angeles drug den

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- A residential house located at the entertainment district of Angeles City suspected to be a den of illegal drug users was dismantled by joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Luzon and Angeles City Police Office on September 26.

In a statement released to SunStar Pampanga, PDEA-Central Luzon Director Gil Pabilona said a search warrant was implemented in Corsikan Compound, Garcia St., Barangay Balibago, Angeles City. The place turned out to be a drug den.

Pabilona said the drug den was operated by the house owner identified as one Ronald Dungca, 45, a high-value target-listed drug personality by the agency who was arrested during the operation.

Pabilona said Dungca’s cohorts and fellow high-value targets identified as

Gerald Tamo, 24; Nelson Acosta Jr., 27; Louie Matiga, 31; and Kiel Patrick Gil Chua, 20, all residents of Barangay Balibago, Angeles City, were also arrested in the operation.

“Dungca and his cohorts are considered high value targets because they are included in PDEA target list. We had been monitoring their illegal activities since late August this year, following a report from a concerned citizen that they are running a drug den here in Balibago,” Pabilona said.

Pabilona noted that the arrest of suspects also resulted in the seizure of 11 sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) weighing about 30 grams with an estimated value of P204,000 and various drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are now temporarily detained at the PDEA-Central Luzon jail facility for further investigation. Charges for violation of section 6 (maintenance of den, dive or resort) section 7 (visitor/employee of den, dive, resort) section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) section 12 (possession of drug paraphernalia) and section 15 (use of dangerous drugs) Article II of Republic Act 9165 are now being readied for filing in court.
