Negros Trade Fair sales surge to P13.6M

INITIAL sales raked in by participating producers at the ongoing 33rd Negros Trade Fair (NTF) at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City have increased to at least P13.6 million.

The figure is 43 percent higher than P9.5 million in sales generated during the Arima day and first two days of the trade fair last year.

During the Arima day on September 25, the Association of Negros Producers (ANP) reported total sales of about P1.3 million, a decrease of nine percent compared to P1.4 million on the same day last year.

An increase of 25 percent was noted on the first day, September 26.

From P4.2 million in 2017, the first day sales went up to P5.3 million this year, the ANP further reported.

The sales continued to increase on the third day of the trade fair.

Producers posted partial sales of P7 million on Thursday, September 27. This is about 80 percent higher compared to last year's P3.9 million, it added.

ANP has yet to compute for the total sales during the third day as well as those for the remaining two days.

Themed "Sweet Talk: Sugar and Spice, Awesome and Nice," this year's Negros Trade Fair organized by ANP in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental runs from September 26 to 30.

In 2017, participating producers generated a total of P25.5 million which ANP targets to surpass this year.
