Y-Speak: Mayor Sara or President Sara?

WE ARE starting to see and feel huge and amazing changes in our city. Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio is doing everything she can to help Davao.

She wants to stay in Davao but with her father eyeing her to do something big for the country might escalate things too quickly for the Filipino people.

With President Rodrigo Duterte’s speech in Jordan to an audience of 1,500 last September 8, he mentioned if he fails to fulfill his promises, Mayor Sara could possibly fulfill them to the Filipino people.

Duterte is confident that his “alpha” daughter could do his unfinished business for the country, and letting us know how good she is in handling the big and heavy position. However, she has repeatedly said that she is not interested to run as president, senator, or even as a congresswoman in 2019 despite being the presidential daughter.

She ranked near to Senator Grace Poe, Senator Cynthia Villar, and Pia Cayetano. Despite her stellar performance in the polls, she still wants to stay and help Davao.

She has great plans for Davao City that are yet to be fulfilled. Mayor Sara does not want to leave Davao despite being ranking high in various polls.

She wants to pursue Davao’s bus system program and farm to market road projects to provide more opportunities to businesses and investors. By implementing the bus systems, it could provide safe mass transport and lessen travel time for the public.

Mayor Sara will seek reelection next year as mayor of Davao City, still with a lot of potential and credentials.

With this in mind, hopefully, Mayor Sara would change her mind to help continue what her dad started for the Philippines.

An energetic, young and brilliant woman filled with amazing ideas; it’s up to her if she is willing to help change our country and it’s up to us if we allow her to fulfill her plans for next year.

Are you in favor of her running for president or should we just support her with the reelection as Davao City Mayor? (Allia Paula Maspiñas, AB Mass Communication, AdDU)
