ANGELES CITY -- Two Korean nationals were arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region (PDEA)-Central Luzon for selling methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu in a drug sting late Friday, September 28, inside a motel along Zeppelin Street Barangay Malabanias in this city.
PDEA-Central Luzon Regional Director Gil Pabilona identified the suspects as Hong Daon, female, 45; and Song Wonseok, male, 40, both Korean nationals temporarily residing in Angeles City.
In a report submitted to PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino, Pabilona said that PDEA-3 agents were able to transact a drug deal with the suspects for the sale of five grams of shabu for P10,000 and agreed to meet in a motel where the they are temporarily checked-in.
“Based on our investigation, Hong Daon is an English translator but has a deportation order in 2016. These two would transfer from one motel to another in order to avoid detection by law enforcers,” Pabilona added.
Confiscated from the suspects were one zip-lock plastic sachet containing more or less five grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P34,000 and the buy-bust money used in the operation.
The suspects are now detained at the PDEA Jail Facility here for further investigation. Charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) in relation to section 26 paragraph B (conspiracy to sell) of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied for filing in court.
