BACOLOD City Acting Mayor El Cid Familiaran said on Monday, October 1, that the Grupo Progreso (GP) has already a complete line-up for the 2019 elections.

“Let’s wait for the arrival of Mayor Evelio Leonardia to announce our line-up because he is our leader,” Familiaran said.

He said their line-up for congressman, mayor, vice mayor and councilors are already complete.

There’s a speculation that former vice mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson of Magbinuligay Kita sa Kauswagan (MKK) will also run for the vice mayoral post.

“We cannot choose our opponents. As to serving the public, both of us started in barangay. I’ve been in public service for the past 27 years, but we run in different positions where Sayson served as vice mayor twice and a councilor, and I was also elected as councilor twice then, a vice mayor. I think most of our voters know us so good luck to both of us,” Familiaran said.

Leonardia had said it’s their dream to have a strong line-up because they want to come up with a 15-0 victory in 2019 elections.

“Not just for our cause, but for the city because we believe that if our city officials are working together, there will be more projects to be implemented and for the fastest growth of the city,” he said.

Meanwhile, village chieftain Noli Villarosa of Barangay Tangub yesterday said he has no plan to run for councilor in 2019 and he needs to focus on his constituents in Barangay Tangub.

“It’s my priority now on how to improve my barangay,” said Villarosa, a former Barangay League president.

He added that for 2019 elections, he will support the group of Leonardia.
