CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The City Government of San Fernando through the City Tourism Office continues to uphold Fernandino excellence as it recently recognized distinguished tourism partners through the Tourism Star Awards at Robinsons Starmills.
Private sector partners in the tourism industry and government officials attended the event, now on its second year.
The CSF Tourism Star Awards recognizes excellent tourism partners, who deliver the best practices and innovation in the city.
Special citations were given to Giant Lantern Festival 2018 Executive Committee Chairman Engr. Alex Patio, Pyestang Fernandino 2018 Chairperson Roberto Ma. Hizon, Kaganapan 2018 Chairperson Ricardo Pineda, Jr., Maleldo 2018 and Pyestang Fernandino 2017 Chairperson Alberto Santiago, Giant Lantern Festival 2017 Executive Committee Chairman Virgilio Cortez, and Maleldo 2017 Chairperson Charles Henry Espiritu.
Tourism establishments who are compliant with RA 9593 or Tourism Act of 2009 in the submission of tourism statistics reports, and successful DOT Accreditation, certifying excellent service standards were also cited.
For its part, the Department of Tourism (DOT) updated the attendees about the standards of DOT Accreditation, which is an accreditation system that is more inclusive for stakeholders.
The DOT Accredited establishments which include Hotel Gracelane, Bliss Hotel, City Heights Hotel, Hotel Mara, Lewana Lodge, Villa Alfredo’s Resort, Villa Antonina Resort, Mystique Lane, Blue Voyage Travel Service, Megaline Travel Agency, El Cairos Tours, Cassini Professional and Educational Services, RFVS Travel and Tours, Pychoney Travel and Visa Consultancy, 2UR Destinations Travel Services, and Diwa Travel Agency.
The Tourism STAR awardees are Villa Alfredo's Resort (Top Healthy Resort for 2017); Hotel Victoria, Orchid Gardens, and Bliss Hotel (Top Healthy Hotels for 2017); Bliss Hotel (Top Eco-Friendly Hotel for 2017); Water Splash, The Tavern, and Villa Forcado’s Resort (top resort, compliance in submission of statistics); Hotel Gracelane, Best Western, and Miyabe Court (top hotel, compliance in submission of statistics); Café Rustico, Bliss Hotel, and Laus Group Event Centre (top MICE facilities, compliance in submission of statistics); Hotel Gracelane (top performing hotel, based on occupancy); and the Tavern (top performing resort, based on occupancy).
