STRESS-RELATED disorders and diseases have been on the rise, often manifesting itself as anxiety or illness. And it is commonly happening to career-driven people who live a busy lifestyle of all work and no play.

It is by this fact that the Nailaholics Nail Salon and Spa has its annual National Pampering Day celebration set on October 17.

"Nailaholics is the brain child of National Pampering Day. We own the trademark for the National Pampering Day so we are the only brand who can implement the National Pampering Day," said Arvin Amaro, the marketing head of R@ Group of Companies, the company that owns Nailaholics.

"There's really no National Pampering Day until we came in. It’s our third year of implementing the same event," he added.

The implementation of the National Pampering Day, according to Amaro, started in 2016, with only one service offered at 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

In 2017, they expanded their services to three for free, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Once again, this year, they added their services to five, such as manicure, hand spa, foot spa, hand massage and foot massage.

"This year, we're giving more customers a chance to avail of our pampering service because instead of doing it up until 1 p.m. as a cut off last 2017, this 2018 we are doing it up until 2 p.m.," Amaro said.

However, unlike the past two years, the services offered in this year's National Pampering Day will not be for free as customers are asked to pay P10.

"The P10 will go to La Verna Aged Care and Dementia Village, it’s actually an organization taking care of people with dementia and Alzheimer’s," Amaro said.

"As per our research and insight, people that dealt with too much stress in their lives, especially women, will get an onset of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. That's why as early as now, we are creating that awareness for the entire Filipino people, he added.

The marketing head also reminded its clients that they can only avail one service on the day so that the other customers will be given the chance to benefit from their services.

"Stress has its short term effects like dandruff; it has long term effects on your kidney and in your internal organs. So, better yet, the ultimate way to relieve your stress is to go to Nailaholics," Amaro said.
