November Art fest slated

BAGUIO City Councilor Mylen Yaranon said the full schedule for next month's international festival will be detailed by the creative council.

The festival is set at the Diplomat hotel grounds and repairs are being done now by the City Buildings and Architecture Office.

CBAO will work hand in hand with United Architects of the Philippines, Kidlat Tahimik and other artists.

Funding for the international event will come from the city and Department of Tourism.

The entire month will be dedicated to the arts in a multi venue setting tapping various creative spaces with activities.

Meanwhile, Yaranon said the crafts and productivity center along upper Session Road (near the former main gate of camp john hay) will be used as a hub for products and services.

Various products will be installed in the hub as well as a weaving exhibition for all to see and appreciate.

The Baguio Creative International Arts Festival in November will feature an expo where international and local crafts will be showcased.

Sectoral representatives on the creative council include Alec Mapalo for performing arts, National Artist for Visual Arts Benedicto Cabrera, Kidlat Tahimik for film, Gilbert Gano for sculpture and carving, Romel Marcelo for metal crafts, Laida Lim for weaving and Frank Cimatu for literature.
