THE Cebu Province medalists in the recently concluded Batang Pinoy National Championships in Baguio City will receive cash incentives from the local government unit.
This was announced by Cebu Provincial Gov. Hilario Davide III yesterday during the athletes’ courtesy call at the Governor’s Office at the Cebu Provincial Capitol.
The gold medalists will receive P5,000 incentive; silver medalists, P3,000; and bronze medalists, P2,000.
The Cebu Province accumulated 24 gold medals, 10 silver medals and 21 bronze medals to capture the sixth place overall.
The national sporting meet for Under-15 athletes conducted by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) was staged last month in Baguio City.
It was participated by hundreds of local government units in the county.
The Cebu Province won medals in arnis, athletics, boxing, basketball, chess, futsal, karatedo, sepak takraw, lawn tennis, cycling, duathlon and triathlon. (RSC)
