Supreme Court extends Carpio's term

THE Supreme Court has extended the term of executive judge Emmanuel Carpio of the Regional Trial Court of Davao City to 2020.

Carpio's extension came after performing well as the executive judge since he took over the position in 2015.

Carpio said in an interview with SunStar Davao yesterday that as the executive judge of RTC-Davao City under his watch he was able to strictly monitor the Fiduciary bond collected from cases.

The fiduciary fund increased P410 million in 2018 from P195 million 2015. The funds are equally distributed to the Sheriff Trust Fund, Special Allowance for Judiciary, and Judiciary Development Fund.

"Inayos ko ang magulong sistema ng Office of Clerk of Court (I am fixing the system of the Office of Clerk of Court)," Carpio said.

In his first year in 2015, he requested a survey in the office where they discoverd that P18 million was missing Fiduciary Fund collected. They have forwarded this to the Supreme Court to be examined.
