Scrolling down: Police regional chief Sinas and Cebu City police chief Garma say they're still collating evidence; two vital witnesses: a habal-habal" driver and a woman drug courier... Police protecting the accuser against the police? Odd indeed... What would Mayor Osmeña say about the killings this time?... Duterte’s father and daughter bet on lotto jackpot... Mocha Uson loosened or unleashed: not good for her critics, says PCOO chief Andanar.

Killers "not police"

NOT the police, police regional chief Debold Sinas reportedly said when asked about the killers of the five men whose bullet-riddled bodies were found Thursday dawn (October 4) on a stretch of the Trans-Central Highway (TCH) in barangay Malubog, Cebu City. But a witness-survivor, one Antonio Belande, a "habal-habal" driver, told media that he and five casualties were victims of an execution by police officers.

It has become awkward for the police to be protecting Belande. General Sinas and Cebu City police chief Royina Garma though said that Belande is not considered a suspect. We are treating him and another witness, an unidentified woman, as "victims." The woman said she rode the "habal-habal" motorcycle to deliver shabu in Guadalupe.

Yet the public might find it disturbing until the NBI would get custody of Belande and the woman. While the PNP can protect them, police might influence their testimony.

Both Sinas and Garma, the city's first female PNP director, said they're still collating evidence (shabu, guns, mobile phones and a laptop) and waiting for forensic results before they can tell what really happened. And yet they’re sure the killers were not the police.

Scene from movie

"Habal-habal" driver Belande's tale on how he survived -- by rolling down the hill after he was shot -- was like a scene lifted off a movie.

The woman witness also said the armed men at the Guadalupe apartment from where they were taken wore police uniforms.

If they were not cops, did they put that on as "costume," just like actors in a film?

What might Tomas say?

People are interested in what Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña wqould say about the new killings. The violent deaths of five people in one setting in his city is worse than the aborted attempt on a barangay councilor and the death instead of a policeman: in number of victims and in the degree of vileness.

Or would the mayor stay quiet this time? It does not involve a political ally and Tomas has yet to recover from the two public incidents of public shaming by President Duterte.

Dutertes and lotto

First, it was Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio who was reported as having placed bets on ultra lotto 6/58 game with the jackpot at P849 million. Then, President Duterte came out as having placed bets too, also aiming for the jackpot.

What if one of them would win the P849 million? Would the public accept it as an honest result?

Loose cannon, mad dog

On top of the threat of Mocha Uson that the battle has just started, her nominal boss at PCOO, Martin Andanar, followed up her warning with his own: now that she's a private blogger, she'll go after her critics.

What might Uson be like, a loose cannon or a mad dog that had taken off its leash?
