All set for the 2nd JGM-MK Rhythmic Gymnastics Invitational Championship which unfolded Friday, October 5, at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School gym in Bacolod City.

The three-day event, which will run until October 7, is expected to gather the country’s top gymnasts competing for the freehand, ball, hoop, clubs, rope and ribbon in the developmental, pre-junior, junior and senior categories.

Jose Montalbo, chairman of the JGM Finance Corporation, said it’s his vision that student-athletes will develop discipline and cultivate the values of hard work.

“My intention is for them to stay here in Bacolod to develop their skills first before going for the big league especially in Manila. I am happy that Manila-based schools have seen our work, and continuously scout for athletes from our institution with the condition that these student-athletes will finish their secondary education here in Bacolod,” he added.

Montalbo also shared that since he has been exposed to athletics back in grade school, and now a successful businessman, he felt that discipline has been a great part of what he is right now.

“I also want to enhance the athletes in terms of their discipline and values so they would also be prosperous later on. And, since I have received God's favor to become successful, it's time I gave back the blessings by creating a sports foundation, the JGM Dreams Foundation, to help these athletes,” he added.
