Wyndham employees show support for typhoon victims

CLARK FREEPORT -- Wyndham Services Asia Pacific Philippines, Inc. (WSAPPI) employees have collectively raised much-needed funds for families across towns in Pampanga, after homes and schools were damaged by Typhoon “Ompong” (Mankhut) last month.

The heavy rains left low-lying towns of Apalit, Candaba, Macabebe, Masantol and San Simon swamped by floodwaters, forcing schools to close down and residents to use boats as their mode of transportation.

As part of the Wishes by Wyndham program, which encourages Wyndham Destinations teams globally to support the communities in which they operate, staff in Clark responded to news of the typhoon with a workplace giving campaign.

“The team has raised P20,000 which has been used to purchase sacks of rice, canned goods, noodles and personal hygiene items. We hope these items will assist families in need as they work to rebuild their community,” said Jerry Estrada, director of Operations at Wyndham Services Asia Pacific Philippines.

The items were given to the community affairs division of Clark Development Corporation, the local government office that will oversee the delivery of goods to affected towns and families.

WSAPPI, a subsidiary of Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific, employs over 150 staff across a number of different functions, including customer support, technical and IT support, communications and creative services, human resources, finance, customer experience, sales, revenue and marketing. Wyndham’s regional office in the Philippines is located at the Clark Freeport Zone in the province of Pampanga, a two-hour drive from the capital city of Manila. (PR)
