Oca’s allies confirm loyalty

VICE Mayor Joaquin “Kikang” Uy admitted that former vice mayor Ian Acenas visited him to try to invite him to join the opposition party.

Uy, however, said he rejected this offer and jokingly said, the "courtship was not enough" to sway him as he "is in love with the mayor".

"Bitaw, dili nako ikalimod, tinuod si former VM Acenas nibisita sa buhatan, it was a friendly visit, bisan pa man ug imbitaron naa man ang mayor nato ug nagtuo kita sa iyang administrasyon, we will follow him," Uy said.

Meanwhile, former Councilor Roger Abaday, one of Uy's challenger during the 2016 elections is making a political comeback, this time under City Mayor Oscar Moreno's slate.

Speaking to reporters, Abaday said his decision to team up with the administration party is because he saw how the administration transformed lives by bringing services closer to people.

Abaday will run as councilor for the 1st district.

Incumbent Councilor Eric Salcedo for his part, who is seeking reelection thanked Mayor Moreno for still accepting him, Councilor Teodulfo Lao, and Abaday in his party despite leaving him in 2016 to join former 2nd District Representative Rufus Rodriguez.

"Nagpasalamat gani ko sa iya kay wala sya magdumot sa among 3, gidawat gihapon mi niya," Salcedo said.
