Seniors rule Cetba event

SENIOR bowlers Marvin Sevilla and Cynthia Uybengkee used their experience to top the men’s and women’s divisions of the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (Cetba) Friday Group Monthly Tournament at the SM City Bowling Center.

The 35-handicapper Sevilla finished the five-game series with a total score of 1,056 to bag the men’s monthly title for September, while the 41-handicapper Uybengkee carded 994 to snag the women’s crown.

John Galindo, a 20-handicapper, scored 1,025 that was good for second place, while Terrence Williams finished with 1,013 to round up the top three bowlers in the men’s division.

Emi Osada, a 36-handicapper, took second place in the women’s division after scoring 985 and senior bowler Baby Bacon came up with 982 for third place.

Sevilla opened the tournament on a high note, knocking down 200 pinfalls in the first game but faltered with 154 and 168 in the next two games. He picked things up at the right time with 204 and 180 in the final two games to take the win.

Uybengkee, meanwhile, had a slow start of 148 and 134 in the first two games. She had her best score in the final game with 194 after scoring 173 and 140 in the third and fourth games.

Bong Supremo (1,002) and Ronan Barredo (1,001) finished at fourth and fifth places, respectively, in the men’s division, while Ram Gonzales (897) and Erica Kim (855) completed the top five in the women’s class. (RSC)
