Early harvest for AAK Davao

THE Association for the Advancement of Karatedo (AAK) Davao clinched two gold medals, one silver and one bronze in the ongoing 1st Karate Pilipinas Cadet's and Children's Championships held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City, Metro Manila.

AAK Davao chief and Karate Pilipinas regional director Rommel Tan said that the event was still ongoing as of yesterday press time.

Aldren Solon of Davao Christian High School (DCHS) delivered the first gold on Saturday, October 6, after winning the boys 12-13 event.

Yesterday, Atsuko Kaiyel Tan also of DCHS lived up to expectation after producing Davao City team's second in girls eight to nine years kata event.

Kyzzhia Pauline Navarro of University of Immaculate Concepcion (UIC), for her part, salvaged the silver in girls 12-13 intermediate kata division while Stephen James Cartagena of Brokenshire College Science High School (BCSHS) copped the bronze in boys 14-15 intermediate kata.

The kumite event was being played as of this writing yesterday afternoon.
