DURING my teenage years, Careline is really one of my go-to affordable make-up because they are not only student budget-friendly but their products also get the job done well.

While checking out the beauty counters lately, I was intrigued on how the brand has leveled-up in terms of their packaging and also with their new product addition to their line.

Better than basic

Late last year, Careline had a make-over of their brand and now lives by the tagline “Better than Basic.” Their packaging and products also had an update adapting to the modern millennial trends.

Some of their new products include their multi-sticks which are face sticks that vary depending on your need just like contour and highlight; mascara which has two variants: “go long” and “go big”; matte and metallic liquid lipsticks which has a wide array of lip shades to choose from; and liquid eyeliner.

Testing the products

I got three of their new products namely: Go Long Mascara (P185), Matte Liquid Lipstick (195), and their Graphic Ink Liner in black (P170).

For the mascara, I loved the applicator because the bristles really help brush my lashes to make it look longer. However, it does have a very strong marker-like scent which I’m not a fan of.

Moving on to their Matte Liquid Lipsticks, I got the shade Pop which is like a dark plum color. I love how pigmented it is and also not drying to my lips. A thing to note though, the color doesn’t stay on the lips as it erases when eating or drinking.

Lastly, my fave among the products I got – the Graphic Ink Liner. I love its thin brush applicator which really helps you control the thickness or thinness of the look you are going for. It is really waterproof and long lasting as well! I have tried using it during one of our events and there is no smudging even if you go sweaty!

The verdict

For its price, the new Careline products are really worth a try! Perfect for those teens out there or even titas like me (*wink) looking for affordable makeup products to try or practice with.

It is truly “Better than Basic!”
