Robbery, murder suspects caught in drug bust

TWO suspects in a school robbery in Moalboal and a murder in Dumanjug were arrested last Saturday dawn. Joric Carataja Epogon, 21, and his cohort, a minor, were caught by anti-narcotics operatives in a drug bust in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. The suspects were reportedly responsible for the killing of another group member inside a lodge in Dumanjug last Sept. 24.

Investigation showed there was an altercation among the members that led to the killing. The suspects were captured by the closed-circuit television camera leaving the lodge in a hurry. Police also identified them as the persons who stole more than P400,000 from the Cebu Technological University-Moalboal last Sept. 9. The burglary was captured by the school’s security camera.

The suspects broke the vault that contained the money. The suspects will be charged with robbery, murder and violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (KAL)
