Scouts ‘unseats’ Benguet officials

SCOUT officials of the day managed the affairs of the provincial government of Benguet on Monday, October 8.

Scouts called on the local government of La Trinidad and the Vegetable Trading Post market supervisors to strictly monitor the Tobacco Control Ordinance and the obstructions within the vicinity of the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post along Pico Market.

The resolution by the scouts will be passed upon the approval of the Benguet Provincial Board.

“With the growing number of trucks and other types of vehicles, makes it unsafe for the elders, scouts including the community people giving way for the vegetable trucks, and scattered porters everywhere with pushcarts,” said the scout official board members for the day adding accessibility of the offices promoting welfare for the youth and elderly being sacrificed with smokers within the vicinity.

Governor Crescencio Pacalso turned over the key of responsibility to Scout Official for a Day (Sofad) Governor Rafael Toyan Jr. while Sofad Vice Governor Ymari Galonza received the gavel and parliamentary books.

A total of 32 Sofad participants took over the provincial government including 13 board members comprised of Board Members Janelle Guiniawan, Vergil Beswilan, Ehnery Masweng, Kylah Esteban, Mival Ralp Agnasi, Schin Lumerez, Ethan Mayyam, Derick Yawan, Precious Manongyao, Jamus Kiblasan, Drenzel Vivencio, Sharry Dangatan and Ashely Gano.

Provincial Department heads were Jake Amilo as provincial adminstrator, Jonrex Balinggan (general services officer), Ariel Lamsis (budget officer), Benhail Paas (provincial engineer), Shaniah Cogoy (provincial health officer II), Ailyn Mae Baldan (provincial assessor), Arnulfo Martin (provincial treasurer), Kristyl Villanueva (provincial accountant), Kurt Baty (provincial planning and development coordinator), Jonalyn Mangeg (provincial legal officer), Patience Tecne (provincial social welfare and development coordinator), Kuh Fagsao (provincial veterinary officer), Danny Dingoasen (provincial agriculturist), Rizza Langgoyan (chief of hospital, BeGH), Giovanni Gawec (provincial human resource management and development officer) and Alphred Julian (provincial environment and natural resources officer).

The Sofad were also joined by 43 Benguet State University members of the administrative council, including 12 regional and provincial directors.
