CLARK FREEPORT -- Works of various Kapampangan artists will be given an extended platform as the Salangian art exhibit will be showcased in Clark Global City (CGC).
During the closing ceremony of the second installment of the said exhibit here, Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) President and CEO Vivencio Dizon said that they want to continuously promote and showcase the works of Kapampangan artists and that they want to expand the reach of the exhibit.
“This is just the start and our plan is that we have to expand this continuously. Now we’re expanding this to Clark Global City, a new business district in the area. For those who have seen it, the feel there is very modern and like Fort Bonifacio already,” he said.
For his part, CDC President Noel F. Manankil expressed gratitude to those, especially the artists, who supported the exhibit at Clark Museum which ran from August 4, 2018 to October 6, 2018.
He said that CDC has allocated some areas in the parade grounds that will form part of the arts, cultural and heritage district. He welcomed the support of those who will be interested in the undertaking.
Dizon said that Kapampangan artists can expect the full support of the agency in pushing for their plan to expand the art exhibit. He also mentioned that Kapampangan arts will be an important part of the on-going developments in CGC.
“What BCDA did at Bonifacio Global City (BGC) is what we want to do here at Clark Global City... and art will be a very important part of that development,” he said.
Dizon furthered that with the success of the said exhibit in this Freeport, BCDA is committed to holding regular and annual event that supports the promotion of Kapampangan arts, culture and tradition.
“As a token of our appreciation, we already committed to make Salangian a regular and annual exhibit. As the artists have more and newer works and as the group of artists grows, then the Clark Museum will always be open to showcase your works,” Dizon said.
In his speech, Dizon also thanked the artists who were behind the said exhibit and cited them as "national treasures" while he also highlighted the importance of arts in upholding national identity and development.
“Art is so important here in Clark and for the nation. This gives us character and soul. So here, our Kapampangan artists are national treasures. Thank you for sharing your works and your passion with the rest of Clark and the whole of Metro Clark,” he said. (PR)
