APALIT -- Hundreds of employment opportunities from in and out of the municipality will be up for grabs to all Apaliteños in the forthcoming 2018 jobs and trade fair organized by the local government here.
According to Mayor Peter Nucom of this town, the local government partnered with various companies and and employment agencies to provide legitimate job opportunities to Apaliteños.
This includes local employment opportunities from SM Supermalls, SM Supermarket, Robinsons Starmills, ACE Hardware, Abensons, Raquel Pawnshop, Pandayan and IQor Clark for office and sales/retail industry.
With the influx and opening of food retail businesses in the town, Jollibee Foods Corporation, McDonald’s, Mang Inasal and KFC will also be offering jobs for working students and degree holders seeking managerial position.
“This is one of the commitments of our investors when we welcomed them in our town, to provide employment and prioritize Apaliteños for their workforce, and we are glad to say that they are fulfilling that commitment,” he said.
Aside from local employment, job orders for skilled and professional workers such as construction and factory workers, butchers, and automotive technicians, among others in Taiwan, Japan, Abu Dhabi, Canada, Singapore and New Zealand will also be made available to job seekers.
A display of local products such as steel craft, house ornaments, wooden religious statues, as well as food products including chicharon, seafood and natives cakes will also be made available to the public via the “one barangay, one product” trade fair.
Nucom said that providing employment and livelihood opportunities to Apaliteños is one of the priorities of the local government as part of its goal of uplifting the lives of every family and individual.
“Aside from boosting the economic growth of our town, we wanted our constituents to feel and experience first hand the development of Apalit and one way of letting this happen is by giving them a wide selection of job opportunities even without going out of their municipality,” he said.
Nucom added that non-Apalit residents may also participate in the said activity but priority will be given to Apaliteños.
The “2018 Jobs and Trade Fair: Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan” will be held on October 18 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Municipal Multi-Purpose Hall, Municipal Hall compound, Barangay San Juan here.
