Mamac eyes Angeles council seat

ANGELES CITY -- Former Balibago Chairman Rodelio "Tony" Mamac said that he will run for councilor in this city in next year's polls.

Mamac, an incumbent councilman of Balibago, said he will join the team of Clark International Airport Corporation President Alexander Sangalang Cauguiran, who recently announced his mayoralty bid under the Kambilan Party of Pampanga Governor Lilia G. Pineda.

The village councilman said that he and Cauguiran share common principles and vision for Angeles City.

Mamac added that city officials should anticipate and prepare for the social cost of the rapid development in Clark Freeport and New Clark City.

He cited traffic congestion, the influx of tourists, increase of garbage volume, crimes, and other concerns that the city needs to consider.

"He (Cauguiran) is right. The city must prepare for development in Clark. He is also correct that city officials should work to deliver quality services to the people. We share the same passion and dream for the people of Angeles," Mamac said.

He said the legislative agenda of the city council should support the programs of the mayor.

According to him, the city government should prioritize peace and order, environmental protection, livelihood, medical assistance, skills development among others.

Mamac said he is now ready to work with his runningmates in the Kambilan Party including former city Councilor Maricel "Marang" Morales who is eyeing the vice-mayoralty seat.

He also solicited the support and prayers of the people to ensure that competent leaders will be elected during the upcoming elections.

"The people have the power for real change to spur growth in Angeles City and attain peace and order for all Angelesnos," Mamac said.
