#ProjectHappiness...life is short and time is a thief that waits for no one, so make happiness a top priority!

PEACE of mind is an important component of health and well-being. If we allow negativity to creep into our lives, it can only lead to undue stress, with the latter capable of killing fast and/or giving birth to a host of illnesses. It is essential to protect our peace at any cost.

Never apologize for leaving a bad situation to preserve our peace of mind because our happiness is important. If someone or something is not bringing good energy into our lives, it has got to go. Simple.

Some may probably assert that walking away from toxic people or situations is never that simple and is easier said than done, especially after you’ve invested time, energy, and feelings in certain relationships. Well, you can always set-up boundaries. And why feel regretful for something that is no longer working out? When you’ve given the relationship/situation your best effort, and it still doesn’t end up well, then it’s not your fault. Instead of wasting more precious time, cut the losses, be thankful for the role these situations or people played in your life, and move on. Don’t let them continue to steal your joy!

You are allowed to protect your peace, get rid of toxicity, throw out drama, cleanse your space, and cultivate only love and happiness. Be mindful of the people you allow into your life. Watch out for bad behavior and be wary, not only because you may get hurt, but also because negativity is very contagious.

It’s funny because “happy people” put a lot of effort in making “miserable people” happy, BUT “miserable people” often have the power to easily make “happy people” feel miserable. Misery loves company, ika nga (as they say), so it’s easy for their kind of beast to literally rain on your parade! Also, remember the old saying: "Tell me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are." Choose your circle wisely.

How do you know someone is toxic and miserable? Just listen to them, feel their aura, and watch what they do. They always have something to say about everyone, and often, it is not nice. A miserable person cannot tolerate seeing or being around someone who is happy. They seek, compare, and destroy other’s happiness like it's a game. They twist stories and manipulate situations to suit their advantage. A toxic person is a perverted beast hiding behind a mask of divinity. Hypocrisy at its finest! They are the type who get offended by the truth and have the temerity to call it a lie.

People who are happy with themselves do not tell lies or say hurtful things to other people. Instead, they build people up and encourage them to focus on good attributes and positive aspects. If you find yourself having the happiness being "sucked" from you by the words coming from someone's mouth or deeds, RUN...fast and far, far away. Moreover, when your friend is caught up in bad behavior and you turn a blind eye, remember that it makes you just as bad. Anyone who turns a blind eye on injustice is complicit with an oppressor. Sometimes, it’s as simple as saying stop or be quiet if you have nothing nice to say.

Respect yourself enough to say, "I deserve peace," and walk away from useless arguments and crappy people that prevent you from attaining it. Once you experience what healthy is and how it feels, you'll never settle for junk. Personally, at this point in my life, I don’t tolerate negative people, toxic behavior, bad attitude, senseless drama, and the like. I guess that’s the beauty of aging—you don’t give a damn because you know your worth. I don’t stress myself out nor lose sleep over who loves or hates me, who speaks or doesn’t speak to me, or who wants to be in or out of my life. I abide by this simple rule: if you like me, I like you more. If you don’t, your loss. Not my problem. Hindi kawalan!

It is important to release negative emotion and let our minds be at peace. Always strive for that over chaos and confusion. It is better to be alone than to be in bad company. All our hearts and souls deserve peace, and we have the power to create it each day by refusing anything that threatens it. There will be things like the traffic or our bosses that we cannot control, but God is ever present. We must learn to surrender all our cares and concerns to the Lord because He has the ultimate power to help carry the load and ease our burdens. With Him in the center of our lives, regardless of storms, unpredictable circumstances, or bad people, our peace will never be taken away.
