BAGO City FC carried its momentum in the semis the previous week to snatch the Negros First Negros Occidental Football Association Youth Football Provincial Championship 2018 title with a 2-1 win over the University of St. La Salle over the weekend at Ceres North Football Field in Talisay City.
“Most valuable player” Jerome Aligora spearheaded the Bagonhon offense while “best defender” Christian Suarez and “best goalkeeper” Justin Villan defended the goal well denying the La Sallians easy entry and hitting the back of the net.
Joshua Limco and Luis Henares of USLS-IS were named “best striker” and “best midfielder.”
Villa Angela FC finished third place after surviving Sagay City FC, 5-3, on a shootout following a 2-all draw in regulation.
Nofa president Ricky Yanson is happy to be in partnership with the Negros First Sports Program of Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Provincial Sports Coordinator Angel Verdeflor.
“This program helped Nofa in promoting football in our province as well as encourages our young grassroots to stay in sports and achieve academically. It’s a great learning process to have this kind of tournament with every LGU’s involvement in hosting and showcasing their homegrown talents,” Yanson said.
