AAC Light Strong advanced to the finals of the Cebu Architects’ Basketball Club (CABC) 2nd Corporate Cup after winning a 92-90 overtime thriller against Econtech in the semifinals last Sunday at the Cebu Eastern College Gym.
Ralph Catugas led AAC Light Strong with 24 points, three rebounds, four assists and three steals. Brian Acebedo contributed 14 points, six boards, three assists and three steals, while Paul Besinga added 11 markers.
Justin Aspacio and Ayi Armenion combined for 45 points for Econtech, which fell short down the stretch. Aspacio poured in 26 points with four rebounds, while Armenion double-double of 19 markers and 13 boards along with four steals and a block.
Meanwhile, Metrotiles forced a do-or-die semifinal game this weekend after a 71-65 win over Davies Paints.
Davies Paints, the higher-seeded squad, has a twice-to-beat advantage.
Michael Cinco came up big for Metrotiles with 26 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Darren Morandante had 19 markers, while Jonas Panerio added 11 points. Criz Matunog was Davies Paints’ top performer with 18 points, eight rebounds and two steals. (EKA)
