A BUSINESSMAN from City Camp Proper, Baguio City was arrested by authorities in a drug bust along Shuntug St., Rizal Monument on October 9.

Senior Superintendent Ramil Saculles, city director of the Baguio City Police Office, identified the suspect as Paul Onosa, 35, who was the subject of the joint operation by Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Drug Enforcement Unit and the Regional Drug Enforcement Agency.

Saculles said during the transaction, the suspect tried to escape after sensing he was dealing with a police officer.

“After the buy bust operation, the suspect sensed our female operative to be a member of the police force aside from the presence of backup police personnel. Onosa wanted to run but was stopped when he rode the motorcycle after bumping and hitting the foot of our operative,” Saculles said.

Confiscated from the suspect were two sachets of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P7,000 and P6,500 cash used for the drug bust.

The suspect is now under the custody of the BCPO Drug Enforcement Unit for appropriate filing of a case.
