AN 11-YEAR-OLD girl from Barangay Los Amigos in Tugbok District, Davao City, allegedly committed suicide.
Davao City Police Office spokesperson Senior Inspector Ma. Theresita Gaspan said the body of “Shiela” will be autopsied and her parents will undergo counseling.
Earlier, it was learned that the girl admitted that she stole P5,000 from her neighbor's store where she asked the neighbor not to tell her parents about it.
But at around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Shiela and her six-year-old sibling were alone while their parents were at work. After a while, her younger sibling went out to seek their neighbors' help as Shiela was already seen hanging inside their room.
The girl was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.
The authorities are conducting deeper probe to verify if the victim really committed suicide. (Richy Nalagon)
