Iloilo mayor cited for biz-friendly efforts

ILOILO City Mayor Jose Espinosa III received a special recognition plaque from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) for being adjudged as one of the finalists of the 2018 Most Business-Friendly Local Government Award City Level 1 for Highly-Urbanized metropolis category.

The citation was given after Espinosa presented the city’s business-friendly endeavors at PCCI Headquarters in Taguig City October 9 in line with the 44th Philippine Business Conference and Expo at Manila Hotel on October 18 to 19.

Espinosa was cited for “exemplifying commendable initiatives towards good governance reforms that promote trade and investments and significantly contribute to local economic development.”

PCCI recognizes local government units that have demonstrated outstanding efforts in instituting good governance reforms to promote trade and investments, transparency, accountability, and efficiency in delivering business services to generate inclusive and sustainable growth and fast track local economic development in their localities.

Dubbed as “The Voice of Business,” PCCI is the largest business organization and representative of private sector in the country. (PR)
