Petalcorin vs. Alvarado moved to Oct. 29

THE world championship fight between Randy Petalcorin and Felix Alvarado has been pushed back to a later date this month. Instead of the original Oct. 21 date, the fight will be on Oct. 29 at the Solaire Resort Hotel and Casino in Manila. “I have worked so hard to prepare for this fight and claim the world title. I have been so prepared and will remain focused despite this small setback. I am so hungry for a world title belt. Alvarado’s record is very impressive but I will treat this fight as a matter of life and death. I will go for the win,” said Petalcorin, who is gunning for the vacant International Boxing Federation light flyweight crown against Alvarado. Petalcorin is ranked No. 3, while Alvarado is rated No. 1 in the IBF. Petalcorin is 29-2-1 with 22 knockouts, while Alvarado is 33-2 with 29 knockouts. (EKA)
