THE lawyer known for hurling “mga bobo” (idiots) expletives used the wrong form for the Certificate of Candidacy (COC) when he filed his bid to run for senator.
According to the Commission on Elections (Comelec), lawyer Lorenzo Gadon used the old form of COC when he first tried to file his COC on Friday afternoon, October 12.
Gadon was asked to re-file his COC by using the one with item #22.
Gadon, however, clarified that he had not filled up the old form.
“I asked the Comelec if it is the wrong form before I filled it up. It was not accomplished yet,” said Gadon.
He added that he merely lacked photos, thus, the more than an hour delay in his COC filing.
Before filing his COC, he expressed confidence that he would win in the 2019 midterm polls.
“Ang sambayanang Pilipino ay iboboto ako dahil hindi ako bobo at iboboto nila ako dahil hindi sila bobo,” Gadon said. (The nation will vote for me because I am not an idiot and because they are not idiots.)
He will run under the banner of the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL).
To recall, Gadon had filed the impeachment complaint against former chief justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
The complaint was about to be transmitted to the Senate when Sereno was ousted through a quo warranto petition. (HDT/SunStar Philippines)
