Town councilor escapes unscathed in gun attack

A MUNICIPAL official was lucky to escape unscathed in a gun attack by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Zamboanga del Sur province, the police said Friday, October 12.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said Teomila Nobleza, 40, Mahayag town councilor, was on her way home when she was shot by one of the men riding tandem in a motorcycle.

Galvez said the incident happened at 5:18 p.m. Thursday at Purok 1 Bayanihan in Lower Salug Daku village, Mahayag.

The triggerman missed his shot prompting them to speed off to unknown direction, the information officer said.

Investigation continues in a bid to establish the identities of the suspects, she added. (SunStar Philippines)
