Independent candidate airs support to Grupo Progreso

PHYSICIAN Jan Kevin Moises, who filed his certificate for candidacy (COC) for congressman in Bacolod City, aired his support to Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran of Grupo Progreso (GP).

Moises, 30, a professor at University of St. La Salle College of Medicine and resident of Barangay Estefania, said he will support the two city officials for the 2019 midterm elections.

He said he filed his COC to introduce fresh blood in politics for the people of Bacolod.

“It’s been always Congressman Greg Gasataya or Monico Puentevella, so let’s introduce fresh blood to represent all of us,” he added.

Moises, an independent candidate, said he is an advocate for better and brighter opportunities for young people of Bacolod in education, healthcare, sustainable environment, safe spaces, employment and increased participation in nation-building.

Moises envisioned an eco-friendly smart city with ecumenical communities and strong support for family, values, human dignity and life.

Moises also aimed to attain equitably distributed quality healthcare made available, accessible and affordable.

“Strengthened healthcare delivery services in Bacolod City through medical research and technology, health financing reforms, public health clusters and the Bacolod general hospital providing healthcare for all Bacolodnon,” he said

Moises said it’s his own decision to run in the 2019 elections and it’s his first time to join the politics.

“It’s been my dream to join in politics and I am very sure to serve the public. Let’s be part of something bigger in Bacolod. Let’s nurture life with love, dignity and prosperity,” he said. (MAP)
